Northern Luzon 360° Road Trip Adventure

Image
The goal of this road trip is to travel to Sta. Ana, Cagayan from Manila. From there the group would tour the island of Palaui before heading back to Manila. Sounds pretty easy huh? However, I promised my readers that I'd make basic travels into adventures. then again, this road trip's challenging adventure is not by choice but due to unexpected circumstances.

Frequent travelers to Sta. Ana, Cagayan would attest that the straight forward back and forth  trip from Manila to Sta. Ana would be 24-28 hours long. This Northern Luzon 360° Road Trip Adventure however took me and my friends almost four days to accomplish.

Overall we spent a total of 50+ hours on the road and only more than half a day to explore. The root of all this if you'd ask -is the suspension of two of the biggest bus companies plying the route to Cagayan. So how did our adventure go?

Day 1 Saturday
Upon learning of the bus suspension the hard way (we learned about it on the day of our departure). We decided to…

Food Trip: Cabalen (ATC)

Image
Our food trip today is all about an eat-all-you-want restaurant that focuses only on Filipino cuisine. Join me as we visit Cabalen (ATC Branch)!

It all started in 1974 when the Cabalen Family of San Fernando, Pampanga opened a small Bahay Pasalubong Restaurant. It focuses only in selling specialty food dishes. Later on it grew into a restaurant called "Ituro Mo, Iluto Ko". Gradually the restaurant gained fame which leads to the establishment of the first restaurant with carrying the family name in 1986. It was in West Avenue, Quezon City that the first Cabalen "Eat-all-you-can, Eat-all-you-want" restaurant was established. From then on the family opened more restaurants around the Metro and the rest is history.
My first encounter with Cabalen was probably a decade ago when I use to pass by it in Robinson's Place in Manila. However, it was only a few months back when I first had a real chance to taste its dishes.
My first visit to Cabalen was when I was invited to…
