DIY: A Night in Cagbalete Island

Cagbalete Island is part of the municipality of Mauban in the province of Quezon. It is 98.6 km east of Manila. 

Its unspoiled beauty and accessibility to Manila makes it an island destination to add to your travel wish list. Be warned though, electricity in the island is available on from 6PM - 6AM. Here's how you can have your own DIY: A Night in Cagbalete Island...

Night falls in Cagbalete

Your adventure begins in Manila. Head to one of the bus terminals below and board a bus that leaves very early in the morning:

The trip takes about 3-4 hours. From Lucena Grand Terminal, transfer to a bus heading to Mauban. Travel time is 1-2 hours. Head to the port and pay the fare and environmental fees before boarding the boat to Cagbalete Island. Travel time is 1 hour.

  • Walk inland to resort (30 min - 1 hour) / Ride a boat to your resort (10-15 min)
  • Check-in + rest (1-2 hours)
  • Settle Cagbalete Island Tour for Day 2 with resort manager (5-10 min)
  • 📸 by the beach + swimming (2-3 hours)
  • Dinner (1-2 hours)
  • Night stroll / night swimming (1-2 hours)

  • Wake up early
  • Preparation for Cagbalete Island Tour (10-20 min)
  • Early breakfast (30 min)
  • Start Cagbalete Island Tour (3-4 hours)
