Malaysia: The Bolehland




With a territory that measures 330,803 square kilometers more than half of which are forest lands that are home to numerous endemic species of plants and animals, Malaysia is one of the 17 megadiverse countries on Earth. 



Malaysia's territory consists of thirteen states and three federal territories. These federal territories consist of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan. The country is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural. The majority of its population are Malays, its minority consists of people of Chinese or Indian descent. There are also numerous indigenous people that live in different parts of the country. Regardless of these differences, its local inhabitants are collectively referred to as Malaysians.

 The name Malaysia came from a combination of the Malay word "melayu" and Latin-Greek suffix "-sia". The word melayu in Malay was derived from the Tamil word malai which means mountain and ur which means city.

I got to visit Malaysia with my family during our Singapore-Malaysia 2017 Trip and I felt that a few days in this wonderful country is not enough to fully enjoy it. Here are the places that I have visited so far:
 I would love to tell you more about this wonderful country but I'll leave you hanging for a bit as this article is just an introduction to my adventures in Malaysia.

Our adventure today takes us to a mountain south of Metro Manila. Mt. Gulugod Baboy  (other variations Mt. Gulugod-Baboy ) is located in Anilao, Mabini in the province of Batangas. Gulugod-baboy is a Filipino phrase that means "pig's spine." The mountain got its name from the contours of the peaks which resemble a pig's back as seen from Janao Bay. Mt. Gulugod Baboy Mt. Japan Diaries 2: Day 5

Day 5 May 21, 2018 Kyoto Adventure (Day 2) We woke up to yet another beautiful day here in Japan . The weather is great, perfect for our planned activities for today.  To familiarize ourselves with the place where we will live for another three days, our plan for today is to have a walking tour around Kyoto Station which is quite near our place. I told my wife that she should be prepared to walk the whole day and I'm happy that she agreed. (Well that's one less problem for me). The Kyoto City Bus Passenger Station < On a side note, my wife has been planning to meet up with Gil, her long-time Filipino friend who happened to have settled in Kyoto City after marrying a Japanese.
