Quituinan Hills - Albay

Located at Barangay Tinago, Camalig in the province of Albay, Quituinan Hills is one of the most beautiful yet least known tourist destinations of the town.

Quituinan Hills Details

For those who have visited Quituinan Hills on a clear day, I bet they'd agree with me when I say that this place is among the top places in the province to view Mayon Volcano. Aside from that, the best way to describe Quituinan Hills is that it has a ranch-like feel. Well, that's probably due to the fact that the developed part of the hill is really a ranch named Quituinan Ranch

Road to Quituinan Hills

Welcome to Quituinan Hills

This place is a great location for picnics with friends and family. You can either rent a cottage (small P100; big P500) or bring and pitch a tent (P100 space rental) in one of the allowable areas of the hill. Other activities offered here are horseback riding (P60 per 15 minutes) and ATV rental (P200 per 15 minutes). You can also explore the Japanese Tunnel across the street. However, make sure that you have a guide along with you. For those who are looking for an activity that does not require you to pay, then better bring a kite or frisbee along with you. You only shell out P20 pax for entrance fees.

Even the parking area is scenic

I got the chance to visit Quituinan Hills with my family on the 3rd day of our 2019 Bicol Road Trip. We got there very early in the morning and we were very lucky as Mayon Volcano was very visible during that time. We spent our time enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and taking pictures of the scenic view.

Let's go back to the car guys!

Quituinan Hills Admission Fee:

To enter Quituinan Hills you need to pay 20 pesos. However, you need to pay an extra if you want to rent a cottage (small P100; big P500). You also need to pay if you want to pitch a tent (P100 space rental) in one of the allowable areas of the hill. Other activities offered here are horseback riding (P60 per 15 minutes) and ATV rental (P200 per 15 minutes).

Why visit Quituinan Hills?

Quituinan Hills is one of the top places to view Mayon Volcano. It has an awesome view of the famed volcano. Aside from that, you can also do a lot of activities in Quituinan Hills that are worth your P20 entrance fee.  Given the chance, I'd love to come back here in the future to watch the sunset while sipping hot cocoa.

Getting to Quituinan Hills:

From Manila, ride a bus bound for Legazpi City. Tell the conductor to drop you off at the tricycle terminal in Camalig town proper. From there, rent a tricycle to bring you to Quituinan Hills. The tricycle ride costs P100-200 as they would usually wait for you (make sure to make it clear to them that you want them to wait for you as transportation going back to the town proper could be a challenge.)

For those bringing their vehicles, Google Maps and Waze will be very helpful. Keep in mind that there is a parking fee of P10 for motorcycles, P20 for cars and jeeps, and P50 for buses.
